The first book under Brandon Tartikoff's imprint for Warner should be a winner. It's an omnibus collection, Koontz's first, containing 14 selections: two novels and 12 previously published stories and. A collection of haunting stories from the author of ICEBOUND, DARK RIVERS OF THE HEART and MR. MURDER, which includes two full length novels, one of which has never before been published, nine novelettes, and over half-a dozen short stories, all sharing a common theme of strange highways from one end of America to the other.5/5(1).

A wonderful collection of short fiction, an absolute must read for any fan of Koontz and especially a fan of short stories, do NOT overlook this book because its a collection of short fiction and not an actual novel. Strange Highways is a collection of two novellas, and twelve short stories. Not every short story collection is "perfect." King's Night Shift collection could have done without two stories, but again, short story collections always have "slinkers," but if you like most of the stories, then I'll /5().

The Strange highways book titular novella starts things off with a bang. STRANGE HIGHWAYS is Koontz's first (and only) short story collection since SOFT COME THE DRAGONS came out in when Koontz was just 25 years old.

Koontz is always very hit-and-miss with me, so it's no surprise I found STRANGE HIGHWAYS /5. Strange highways book is a novella about a Vietnam vet being stalk by a killer after he saved a girl who was on the killer's hitlist. 3/it's an okay story, but it could have been a lot better and more a thriller.

Strange Highways is one of those books you must get if you like Koontz's work or if you like speculative fiction/5(). Strange Highways Hardcover – by Samwise Didier (Author, Illustrator)5/5(2). If you're looking for strange highway stories across America, this book isn't it. Most of the stories are Tennessee based. That's because Jerry lives near there. Also, Jerry talks about happenings not even based in America like Springheel Jack.

His cattle mutilations rant is very biased and he has little in his book to back up his claims/5(31). Free download or read online Strange Highways pdf (ePUB) book. The first edition of the novel was published in Mayand was written by Dean Koontz.

It's about pages and was put out by Borgo Press (really Wildside) just a few years ago.3/5. strange highways Joey Shannon, an alcoholic whose life has been going nowhere for 20 years, returns to his hometown for the funeral of his father.

As he leaves town, he gets a mysterious second chance to relive the night in when his life began its downward spiral: to both literally and figuratively take the road that he didn't originally take/5(10). "Snatcher" is a journey into the macabre, while "Twilight of the Dawn" is a moving tale of a man's search for faith and guidance."Strange Highways" is not so strange at all; it's great fiction by a masterful writer.

Dean Koontz is without a doubt one of the best writers of all time.5/5(5). Strange Highways holds two novels, plus 12 novellas and short stories, all but the title novel published before but here tastefully if not totally rewritten.
